Got mad, drew BBS in her new armor

“One cannot consider the fate of a single man, nor ten, nor a thousand. Billions will live or die by our actions here, and we have not the luxury to count the cost.”
Skaven Warp Lightning Cannon
So here is the finished result of my Warp Lightning Cannon that I painted. I tried to do some lighting effects coming off of the warpstone bits. I’m still rather new to lighting effects so I know it’s not perfect, but on the playing field it’ll still look good enough.I didn’t spend as much time on this one as I could have, but I’m fine with that. Most times the detail work I’ll put in things are only noticeable by me seeing as I know where to look. Even now I’m seeing plenty of mistakes, but it’s fine. It’s dirty and Skaven-y.
Reblogging this from my personal blog. I know most of you guys following me here can appreciate the work put into this even if it’s less than perfect.
Thor’s mighty hammer, Mjölnir.
In legend Thor’s hammer was created by two dwarf blacksmith brothers after Loki foolishly bet his own head that they could never make anything more beautiful than the gifts made by the sons of Ivaldi. The two brothers, Sindri and Brokkr got to work right away with absolute confidence. Loki, being afraid that they would succeed disguised as a fly and bit Brokkr over and over again to try and screw him up. In the end the hammer is made and the bet is won by the brothers. Loki, however, tells the dwarfs that to take his head they would have to harm his neck, and his neck was not part of the deal. Upset that they were tricked out of their prize they taught Loki a lesson by sewing his mouth shut.
The magic behind Mjölnir allowed Thor to “smite as hard as he desired, whatsoever might be before him, and the hammer would not fail; and if he threw it at anything, it would never miss, and never fly so far as not to return to his hand; and if be desired, he might keep it in his sark, it was so small…” (Prose Edda)
Throughout the myths Thor’s hammer allowed him to slay giants, crush mountains, and win challenges. In the end Thor would use Mjölnir to fight and slay Loki’s son Jörmungandr, the World Serpent during Ragnarök. In doing so the venom of the serpent would cover Thor and kill him.
Vikings have been discovered to wear small anchor looking amulets that were representative of Mjölnir. Some were ornate, but most were made of simple iron hammered into shape. It is believed that these were worn to show defiance to the spreading of Christianity and the amulets of worn by Christians. Others suppose that they were meant to help gain the gaze and favour of Thor himself. Both women and warriors alike wore the amulet for protection in life and in battle.
“we will settle this the viking way” omfg I need an excuse to say this
I need every possible excuse to use this phrase. Bless you, Horrible Histories.
